T3D 1.2 - Build files not generated for new project - NOT A BUG

by Kyle Hagin · in Torque 3D Professional · 11/25/2011 (1:45 am) · 4 replies

Build: T3D 1.2

Platform: Windows 7 x64

Issues: When generating a new project build files are not generated and a message "No Source to generate" comes up.

Steps to Repeat:

1. Install T3D 1.2
2. Install T3D 1.2 Demo Tools
3. Generate new project with any template.
4. No build files or folders are generated in the new projects folder.

Thank you Bloodknight! That did the trick. I think maybe the installer intended to put the tools demo on top of the 1.2 installation but instead created a new folder which didn't have source code or anything. It did however contain the exe for the toolbox which must of been the one that was getting executed when running the toolbox. This could be why the tool box was saying no source to generate? Mostly speculative:) Hope this helps someone else running into the same thing.

The demo and full sdk install to separate directories. However, the Toolbox in both installs is the same and both make use of the same registry keys, and installing in that order you may have overwritten the shortcuts. Best to remove both and reinstall the sdk only.

When you say tools demo do you mean the pacific demo ? Or do you mean the demo for the engine that you download. I don't have the demo verison but the full verison. I don't get any erroe messages when I create a new projecta folder called buildfiles is not created and no directory for source is created either.
