Running T3D under Vmware Fusion

Has anyone had any luck running T3D 1.1 under VMWare Fusion or Workstation? Yes, I know it's not as fast as native, but I've ran all the TGEA versions and an earler T3D under Fusion with no problem except the slowdown. 1.1 just gives me a "unable to initialize Direct3D" error, though.

We do have the latest Dx and drivers, yes?

The latest drivers are never necessary and in reality are the #1 cause of known graphics bugs, and quite likely to completely bug out a gamers machine.
Of course this isnt quite as simple in VMWare, however it *should* be using its drivers to interface with the host hardware and drivers, so it should in theory (performance not withstanding) be fully featured. This was the case and apparently is no longer the case, so ive no idea whats up.
The only thing i havent tried is installing all this on a different host system, which isnt possible for me right now

DX is always correctly installed on all systems of mine. The latest drivers are never necessary and in reality are the #1 cause of known graphics bugs, and quite likely to completely bug out a gamers machine.

I've been thinking about updating fusion to version 4, so I can increase the video ram up to 512mb (it's currently only 128mb), but people are complaining about it.
Vmware says it is dx9 and shader 3 compatible, and I've run witcher2 and Deus Ex, so I'm not sure what is causing the error. If I can figure anything out, I'll post it here.

Incas this issue on a laptop where the videos setting were not detected properly.
Check previous version default setting and you should get what s wrong.

fwiw, it runs fine under Parallels. So for me, this is a cheap option ($29), so I'm not going to pursue the vmware version anymore.

seems to be the solution to VMware too, i revisited this problem today and this solved it for me.
