Torque, Windows8 and DX11

Has anyone messed around with Windows 8 yet? From what I understand in order to make Tileable game one that will be sold in the Windows 8 app store you must use DX 11. This would be a great opportunity for T3D and T2D, to be able to build games available at launch for the new W8 tablets.

On top of the DX11 issue, we also would touch.

Any plans?

Well there is more than just DX11 support... we cannot use any Win32 calls...we would have to move to WinRT.

Still there are plans to support DX11, but i can't get into specifics just yet. GG plans to talk about it after T3D 1.2 ships.

"We're looking into it. Internal discussions about it have been happening recently. However, we are still staffing up on programmers which will help dictate our processes."

I honestly think T3D needs to step up a little bit... There are some very useful things out there, not only on performance, but rendering sides that need to be addressed.

Porting to DX10/11 would be a good start.
