TGEA Still a good engine?

Hi everyone, coming back to gg after a huge hiatus, just curious about the current state of tgea.
When i left tgea it was still pretty shaky. Is it still being used by lots of teams ? Any major bugs ?
Dont really want to purchase tgea and all of my art packs again if its not required.
Thanks

i think if your coming back you should get torque 3D altho your expert and this is a first day for me but with the low price and it being the newest with means it will get most focus it is the best way to go in my perspective

Torque 3D for me though is light years ahead -- the editors are so much better, documentation, modular physics, sound, etc all make it much cleaner code wise.
The one caveat is that Torque 3d needs a better GPU to even run in basic lighting with everything turned off I could get 8-9fps from T3D in a fairly empty map where I'd get 50-60fps from TGEA in a populated map.

TGEA isn't bad from a stability and rendering perspective, still has some issues with how DIF interiors are rendered though.Torque 3D for me though is light years ahead -- the editors are so much better, documentation, modular physics, sound, etc all make it much cleaner code wise.

I fail to see the problem if T3d requires higher system specs than the average or low end system right now. Is'nt this a very good thing from a development stand point. After all by the time you release a game the standards for systems and even low end systems will have increased a bit.

T3D supports Window only, with TGEA you can support Window + Mac.

TGEA was Windows only, it had no Mac build. T3D has support for Windows and Mac, thought the Mac is lagging behind the Windows build as we haven't found us a hardcore graphical Mac programmer yet.

Better Mac support is always, um, better!

TGEA 1.8 for Mac is in my account downloads and I remember doing work on it as a GG employee. So, pretty sure 1.8 runs on Mac ;)http://www.garagegames.com/community/blogs/view/15436

Holy crap, I've been working with Torque and part of this community for 9 years.

Doh! Yeah, it did have Mac support. All my work with the legacy engines was so PC-centric I forgot there was a Mac build for it. I think the past 9 years are starting blur together as one long Torque bing and some the details are starting to get fuzzy.Holy crap, I've been working with Torque and part of this community for 9 years.
