You connection to the server timed out

Has anyone had the error "Your connection to the server timed out" when trying to connect to an online game server? I get the error no matter what server I try to connect to. I have also tried ThinkTanks on another PC here and it works fine, so I believe it is something on my main PC.

If you're trying to connect to a torque demo server, it's likely that the people running it don't really want you to connect (as they're probably developing), and therefore are behind a firewall or something equally nasty.

I can't even connect to the Shockwave servers though. It works on another pc that I have, just not my main one.

May be a routing problem, if other threads are to be believed. Do you have a router?
