T3D Client on Linux... with WINE work!!!

by Alfio Saitta · in Torque 3D Professional · 08/22/2011 (10:20 am) · 5 replies

Today i tried to do what i thought was impossible (considering the characteristics of this laptop). I took a copy of my client (T3D), and i tried to run it with wine. Even if not immediately, with some small measure, by magic...

...was started and less playable.

The frame rate is really low, but the laptop is an old eMachines E-510 with a Intel GMA965.

Alfio have you continued using T3d with wine? Run into any major snags? About to try to set this up just wondering if it's worth the effort?

This is good to know. You can't do C++ development, but being able to run your end product is a good thing. I have gotten Oblivion to run that way as well.

Thanks for sharing.
