I had a very similar conversation with my nephew when he asked why I preferred doing contract work and indie games to working for a AAA.

Rather daaark though... but still funny way of seeing how -conventionally at least- anyone would be in trouble looking for its place in the industry.

Be that 'hunting for buried pirate treasure'....'becoming a rock band'....I think you know what I mean. :)
...EVERY major corporation is going to impose those conditions[never allowing home return]...if you let them, ;).

I look at it as more of a metaphor for wanting to jump into anything without really doing ANY research of what's actually involved.Be that 'hunting for buried pirate treasure'....'becoming a rock band'....I think you know what I mean. :)
