Smoothing Groups Problem

Hey guys!
I just made a fuller for my sword and as I implemented the sword there were some light issues with the smoothing groups... I tried different variations which all didn't worked pretty well.
was about to edit some normals but not sure if that would solve the problem
heres a picture of the issue

How about an image without the normal map on it and some other samples to take a look. right now it just seems like a bad bitmap for the normal bump to me.

I would say check your model then for problems and explcietly setup the normals/smoothing groups as needed then. But really you should never have that goofy bubble effect going on something that should be flat and sharp.
