TrueSpace4.3 good for Torque modeling?

I am thinking about forking over money to buy TrueSpace 4.3 for $80 and want to know if that's really a good idea. What I want to know is will TrueSpace 4.3 be useful and effective enough to be a good replacement for 3D Studio Max. I know Alias WaveFront Maya Complete would be a very good replacement, but it's $2,000 and no way would I ever be able to afford that. I have bought a copy of Milkshape 3D as well and I like it so far, but I need an easier character modelling program. So what do you all think?

Honestly, if I were you, I'd spend the extra money for 5.2 or 6+. Truespace is a great tool, no doubt about it, but the API has changed quite a bit from 4.2 and you will get better exporter support.
