Website down every morning (UK Time)

#1 Yeah I've noticed quite a few times the site not being accessible in the mornings but remember somewhere Eric or one of the other GG guys mentioning they are working on moving the site to more reliable hosting.

#2 @Mike - We are aware of the issue.

@Andy - You are correct. We are migrating to a new host. The backup of the site and databases started recently.

#5 Can I suggest you guys move to Dreamhost. The site seems to be down about 50% of the time I look at it these days!

#6 Thanks for suggestion Conor, but we've already got a new host selected. We're in the process of migrating to them. Shouldn't be too much longer, we were almost ready to flip the switch yesterday but some last minute blocker bugs were discovered that prevented it from happening.

#7 Switch is flipped. Let me know if you see any more downtime. I'm so glad to be off of that old server I can't even tell you.

#9 @Matthew - This was actually a planned downtime, we just forgot to put up the "under maintenance" banner. Sorry about that.

#12 The site is doing much better, thank you for that but it still has some hiccups. ..an hour or more during NY Morning hours.

#13 I think you might've been hit by that odd short outage we the other day eb. Everything should be stable now and the only downtime you should see would be planned downtime.

#18 I'm getting this too (Afternoon/Evening Japan Time). Fortunately, one of my refreshes I got an error message:

Just from a glance, I'm going to guess your Zend (Optimizer?) isn't set up right for your caching, OR you're running out of memory and it's giving a similar error. That's just a guess though.

#19 does seem like the database goes down at some point still during the early hours, for a couple of hours. Do you guys have a clustered/load balanced solution?
