Need help Installing

So I bought the kit, but don't know how to get it installed. I've gone through the directions on how to do it, but im not sure if I understand them. Can some one lay out how to do this in a better way than the manual had.
See the manual says I need to copy the files with the terminal, and I think im doing it right but I always get a directory error.
