iTorque in 3D?

I came across this video on youtube where a program was using facial tracking to create a 3D effect.
I'm not asking for implementation or if anyone knows if it is possible with iT2D. All I was wondering was if anyone thought this is interesting and what your thoughts are on this.

On a related note, I was thinking of making a sports game, a hockey game specifically a while back. One feature I was considering was, if my camera was made to look that it was off to the side of the playing surface (like most sports games (side view)), that I would make my lines (red line, blue line) change angle, relative to the camera. This would require a sprite to adjust its frame dependant on camera position.
Could be done according to my calculations but I am not sure how well it would look. Never got around to making a prototype.

I love this. There was one I saw using the same technique or basic principles. It was called Ballerina I think, for the iPhone. I also saw this video. I think it is a very cool thing. I am not sure of its practicality in that how would you make something the mass market would want, but still cool.
