"My Studio" tab is missing

by Daniel Foust · in Technical Issues · 05/17/2011 (9:47 pm) · 6 replies

I posted this in the Torque 3D forum, then realized this would be the better place for it.

I've just purchased Torque 3D for a two-person studio, but the "My Studio" tab where I'm supposedly able to assign accounts is nowhere to be seen. I believe I purchased the Studio License for Torque 3D, though it never specifically asked me which one I wanted to buy. I assumed (perhaps foolishly) it was the Studio License.

Have I made some kind of terrible error and bought the wrong license? If so, is there a way to fix this without buying the engine again?

I believe the Studio licensing was done away with with the TorquePowered shutdown and reactivation of GarageGames.

"Full source, no royalties, one price" ...one user, non-transferable.

They simplified the license actually, and even with the old Studio license model you still would have needed two licenses for two users.

Really? They didn't do a very good job of making that clear, then. I don't recall anything about that in the EULA or purchasing process. The EULA has rules for the studio license, but nothing about whether it still exists.

So I guess this means I'll have to buy another license for the other studio member using the program.

I *think* that the EULA rules for the studio license is for existing Studios. So far as I recall it being mentioned it was said no further studio licenses would be available but they "may" be able to work with you on an individual basis.

Even with a Studio license you would have still needed 2 licenses for 2 users.

I see. Alright, well, not a major setback. By the way (a little off topic), do you know how long the engine will cost only $99? I noticed a little "for a limited time" underneath there.

The elimination of new Studio accounts was announced when we restarted back in January. The Studio references in the EULA exist for existing Studio licensees as well as other Bulk Accounts.

As Michael mentioned, even if the studio licenses were still available you would still have to purchase 2 licenses.

The system was there for studios...why not utilize it with higher pricing ?
