Att. Mr. Perry Font issue in engine. -RESOLVED

by Dustin Zagumny · in iTorque 2D · 05/12/2011 (2:26 pm) · 12 replies

I purchased the engine and loaded it when I open the file it launches fine however I have no words on ANY of the gui interfaces. NONE NADA ZIP... Now I don't mind a few bugs but one that renders a program unusable after I buy it... ya I have issues with that. If there is a fix let me know I have tried downloading it and reinstalling after i deleted it and it still does the same thing.
I am running OS X 10.6.7 on an intel core 2 duo with 4 gb of ddr3 ram.. also using latest patches and newest Xcode.
Thank you for any help.

@Dustin - I saw the image in the e-mail you sent me. This is very strange behavior. I have never encountered this problem on any of my machines. I am currently upgrading my developer machine to 10.6.7 to see if that is a problem. While that is happening, can you open tgb/console.log and read through the text. Look for any warnings, errors, or messages related to "missing."

Thanks for the reply. I could only find this

Missing file: /Users/dustinzagumny/Library/Application Support/GarageGames/iTorque 2D v1.4.1/imageEditorPrefs.cs!

I hope it helps you out in solving this problem

Thanks

Just upgraded to 10.6.7. It's working fine for me. The missing file isn't the cause of the problem. Can you e-mail me your console.log file so I can scrub through it and see if something stands out?

Also, where did you install the engine? What directory?

It will be on it's way in a min. I followed the instructions and dragged it into the application folder in the installer as directed.

I think that is all you will need I am looking into a driver update for the Nvidia card now.

@Dustin - Alright. I'm going to escalate this and bring it to our QA team's attention. We are getting a lot of new hardware tomorrow, so I will see if we can match one to your system. Let me know if anything improves after the Nvidia update.

@Dustin
I just finished testing on my personal MacBook which is the same specs as yours. No dice unfortunately, everything is running correctly as expected. It could possibly be a bad install. Try removing it and reinstalling, it may be a good idea to redownload the installer as well.

@Mr.Burns... Did as you suggested and still no good. I am backing up my system now and I am going to do the drastic... a fresh reinstall of my OSX back from the original and re-reinstall iTorque then see if it works. If it does then I will reinstall my programs one at a time till it brakes then see what it was.

@ Mr. Burns
Ok I have nuked my system did a complete reinstall and it is still the same. I even downloaded it via cable and not wifi after the fresh install. So now I am at a huge loss. I have literally just the OSX 10.6.7 and Xcode 4.0.2. I am really confused now. And to top it off now the iTorque projects will not open at all. Sigh.......

@ Mr. Burns & Mr. Perry
Solved the Issue!!!!!!! YA!!!!! Ok never install PowerMate updated driver on your mac if you want iTorque 2D to work.... It's FONT is what was messing up the engine.

I thank you for your help and am looking forward to using the engine.

Cheers!
