T3D 1.1 Preview - Seeing through objects. - AWAITING FEEDBACK
by Dmitry Koteroff · in Torque 3D Professional · 04/13/2011 (1:52 pm) · 9 replies
Platform: Stock T3D 1.1 preview. Windows 7 x64, AMD Radeon HD 5770 1Gb, Catalyst 11.1
Target: Renderer?
Issue: Actually, don't know. Looks like world is transparent where it shouldn't be.
Repeat: Run Toolbox, choice FPS Example -> Desert demo. That's it.
Suggest: Bug with z-buffer? o_O

Catalyst 11.1 - not very new, but pretty actual. I'll try newer drivers.

I will wait for the verdict on the newer drivers before looking at adding this as a bug. I have not been able to replicate it.

With newer Catalyst 11.3 problem the same. So, yep, looks like a bug.

Radeon HD 4870 - OK
Radeon HD 5750 - OK
Dmitry, try to uninstall and reinstall T3D and check if the *bug* is still there after that. May be some materials scripts got damaged somehow.

You've almost certainly got a bad install on your hands there or potentially something else happening at the system level. The midrange machines in the lab are sporting HD 5670's and there's nothing like that happening on them.
Weren't you having another issue that seemed to coming from a bad install as well, or am I thinking of someone else? Oh, and make sure to remove any previous versions of T3D for good measure.
