T3D 1.1 Preview - terrain Detail map Problem - LOGGED (THREED-1583)
by Enel · in Torque 3D Professional · 04/10/2011 (2:04 am) · 10 replies
win7 64bit
Target:
Terrain - DetailMap
Issue:
Detail map is dirty by detail map size
detail map scale 8 - present Torque Demo

detail map scale 50 - current My Torque Demo

i know it is not bug, but you should be know what is problem. it has an effect on Torque's quality down
Suggest : Detail map scale some increase or decrease detail map distance and defuse map quality up

This actually looks very similar to something I came across with Ari running one of my maps, after a driver update it fixed the appearance of the really flickery detail maps. What graphics card and drivers are you running on Enel ?

Same driver set but a much newer card.
Reminds me alot of what I used to see when I was on an ATI 1950 dual, when you move around does it all shimmer ? Its like its over sharpened the detail maps mipmaps or something.
Have you modified any of the drivers settings atall ? Mine are all at default for the screens I posted above. Do you have anything effecting mipmaps, anti aliasing or anistropic filtering etc ?

Anyway it seems to almost (not really completely I think) disappear if in T3D options I enable Anisotropic Filtering (even the with the lowest 4X setting).

Me too I noticed the same artifacts as Enel, just a bit less evident.Anyway it seems to almost (not really completely I think) disappear if in T3D options I enable Anisotropic Filtering (even the with the lowest 4X setting).
