Terrain showing black artifacts in Deathball Desert

I'm seeing some bad artifacts on the terrain in the deathball desert level in Beta 3.
I have not seen this problem with any previous versions of torque or T3D before Beta 3.
The following images display the problem I'm seeing:
The artifacts are consistent. They always show up in the same spots on the terrain. It looks like it may involve some LOD problem on the terrain square texture. the location and shapes of the black spots are the same each time the game is run and the artifacts sometimes will flicker as I move further away as new lod levels pop in and out.

I'm not able to remember if we specifically fixed any issues that could have caused this, but alot of bugs have been fixed since beta 3.
Maybe try going to the Examples\FPS Example\game\art\terrains folder and deleting the Deathball Desert_0_basetex.dds file and restarting the demo.
