Unable to launch Torque

by Bruno · in Torque Game Builder · 03/31/2011 (9:10 pm) · 7 replies

Hey everyone,

My game is under QA on a portal, and under their test(this happens in 2 particular machines) , when they click on the .exe the game simply exits, without any warning or without writting to the console.
Do you guys have any clue on what could cause this ? I don't remember ever seen torque exit or crash without writting absolutely nothing to the console.log

Thanks for any ideas.

I'm not really helping here, but I'm pretty people will ask for those two computer's configs (hardware + OS) if you can provide them.

Bruno - Get the console.log files. and post them.

Hop on irc and I will help you figure it out if you want.

EDIT: Didn't see the fail to write to console...

Thank Chris, but as I said in my post, there's no logs.

I have a whole bunch of hardware compatibility PC's (10 - 15). 4 or 5 have Vista and/or 7.... I can run it through some of them and see if I can reproduce the problem and go from there.

What version of tgb are you using? Have you made changes?

Unless you can reproduce the issue you can't fix it.

TGB version is 1.7.5; I do have some changes in the source.
But never seen this happening in any computer.. even when TGB fails to launch, it usually shows a window saying that a problem occurred.

Anyway, thanks very much for your help. I'm sending you an email (to your profile's email) with a download link for the game. If you could reproduce the problem, it would be great.

I'll see what I can do. I will try and get it tested this weekend but it might have to wait until Monday.
