Not for sure if this is a bug or not but; I've been trying to change the texture to the road of the road tool but the engine keep crashing, can it be changed?

yes it the stock out of box version no source changes. I'm talking about the decal or road/path editor. The step I using is select the road/path editor; then I place the first node, then switch over to the object editor go to the road, or node and click the material the road is using. Once you select the material it brings up all the materials in the directory, if I select ANY other texture the engine crashes. As I stated I'm not for sure if it's a bug or not, if anyone can help with this it would help me out.thanks

I haven't been able to reproduce it so far following the steps you gave. I did notice an oddity when setting the material in the Object Editor and the reference to the old material still existing in the Road Editor. I think that's just gui not refreshing automatically somehow though.
Are you getting any errors in the console when it crashes?

I think I found the issue. I think it's the texture I'm choosing, because I selected the other default road texture and it worked.thanks anyways!

Is this the decal road, or the mesh road? Are you using a plain vanilla 1.1 B3, or have you made changes? What steps are you using to change the texture?
Thanks!
