Are IFL's gone for good?

I was counting on IFLs. If they are not to be reinstated, what is the best alternative method for animated textures in T3D?
Thanks for any input.

Animated Materials were intended to replace IFLs. This can be done via the animation properties in the material editor.

It's just too bad that Animated Materials fall a little short of what IFLs could do ;)

We just got the QTwebkit working, and now we can stick any web page to any texture in the game.

Both Flash and animated GIFs are supported, so we just solved our animation issues. Performance seems good, and we are no longer restricted to animated materials which tend to crash if using more than 16 frames or so.

Might be something others want to try, QTwebkit is a bit tricky to build into your game but well worth it.

I always hope for an expanded feature set of Animated Materials...

T3D 1.2 ???

Well,I still pretend that T3D needs a better image animation.
The current solution works only for small maps and is some sort of a revamped solution.
I believe returning the IFL support is not so hard to do,but it would work for the dts shapes only.
