FishCraft is in Playtest!

Ok, here's the link to the playtest forum: forums.create.msdn.com/forums/t/74302.aspx

If you see something we're doing in our game and would like code samples, or have questions about how we're doing it, please feel free to ask. We appreciate all the effort that has went into CEV.

I will update this forum when the game goes into review. Currently we're holding off to avoid getting pushed off the new release list by the onslaught of games that will inevitably be posted with the 3.1 deadline.

As some of you may know... the games name was changed from Pissed! Fish to FishCraft after some issues with the word Pissed being a bit too strong in the U.K.

Technically... it's "FishCraft" :)

For the record, I think it was funny that the fish were drunk in the UK, but oh well.

The word Pissed means very drunk in the UK (and Australia and NZ). Its not 'strong' as such but probably not accurate in the context of your game!

Looks good, shame I don't have an xbox 360 :).

Believe us... we really, really didn't want to change it. We feared not passing review or worse having complaints in the U.K. and MS pulling the game missing the new releases list.

We considered so many different names in the past couple days... I think the fact that FishCraft was just a little different (not synonyms of Pissed) made it stand out and we were okay with that. It's really its own word and we'll let the game define the meaning :)

Very good :) I'm really impressed :) If there is a possibility where you could zoom out and see the entire scene, I think that would add something to the game. When I play angry ____s. I usually zoom out.

Good job! Let us know when you go into review. ;)

Looks good Josh, how do you push games out so fast? :-) takes me a month to fill in one pixel :P

Chris Hubler does all of the art and most of the level design. I just try to provide him with the components to do it all in the editor :) It's definitely gotten easier with each game.

@John - Thanks for the suggestion, at this point it would take quite a bit of level design changes to make it possible to zoom out much further. If the game is successful enough we'll look at doing the work for a future update. I've found in playing Angry Fowls... zooming out is nice but I can be more accurate with my aim when zoomed in and have more control over the angle.
