Problem with visibility animation in maya2dts

Can anyone help me out with my my visibility animation wont work in showtool ?
I select the meshes I want to add it to. Choose DTS--->rendering options--->visibility Animation from the Utility. I make sure to set 0 or 1 keys during the sequences I want Vis on or off in the 'Vis' channel of the mesh.
In the Sequence Attribues I have 'Enable Vis' set to on and 'Force Vis' set to off
Thanks :(

They tell you for skinned meshes the geo needs to be in the scene root but if you want to use visibility animations , the parts you need to use it on have to be somewhere under 'start01' in the hierarchy
