Cheers

There's 2 search text box. The upper one "Search Site" is working but the "Search Forum" isn't, you can use the upper one for now until the bottom one gets fix.

I was going to post that the "Search Forum" is broken as well. I use "search forum" frequently to make game engine specific searches, without it, there's a lot of sifting through google to fine the right result :-(

TPSearch is very appropriate when talking about the GG search engine. ;)

I wish "Search Forum" would return to its old search functionality (with torque engine specific searches) now its just google and sucks. Why would people come here to search if they get the same results as google? They can cut out a step by going straight to google. Don't you guys realize this is hurting your site traffic and business in general? The old "Search Forum" was 100 times better then this google search. Before I could click "advanced search" and click the Torque Engine of choice, with google you get results from every engine and takes forever to find what your looking for. Literally Sucks(google search for garagegames)

Was I the only one that used this feature?

That's not as annoying as when you submit your search, your text is replaced by 'search forums'. I do like TPSearch though as an alternative :P

Guh. Now we can't even use engine specific searches.

GG. FIX THIS.

Sifting through pages and pages worth of google search nonsense plus their seriously annoying ads at the top AND the side just gets WAY too annoying.

Any future plans on bringing back the real forum search with engine specific searches? I've hardly used the GG forums since this feature was removed.

This is killing the community, at least, it killed me. Basically all the knowledge on this forum has become completely useless because you can no longer find what your looking for. Google is good, but HORRIBLE for forums.

Why was a perfectly working forum search replaced by google anyways? UGG... PLEASAE GG FIX this LITTLE issue. If you fix it, ill purchase another game engine license.

I've been going to google.com to search

site:www.garagegames.com what im searching for

It works decently I guess. Definitely not a replacement for real searching integrated into the site.

The search is on the list of web stuff to improve. The change to the Google search was necessary as the previous search relied upon 3rd party software that we no longer had a license for after the shutdown last year.

After purchasing TGB and the PFK, I have found the forum search's return results from all forums and has resulted in a lot of wasted time.
There is a lot of knowledge in these forums, but when trying to implement things for hrs, then realizing its not even for TGB is so annoying. To the point where I sometimes stop using TGB for a couple of days.
I'm sure it wouldn't take long to code something for a custom forum search to replace the current one and if you use PHP, I could have a go at knocking something up.

Not sure if this is a lot of work to do, but it would seem like you could create the forums in the following way for each of the forums.
TGB.garagegames.com
TGE.garagegames.com
etc.
This would then allow you to use google search to search only the single forum.
However you could still search the whole forum and website using
garagegames.com
Does this sound like an easy thing, splitting up the forum like this?.
Just a thought.

Edit: I think that the private forums are not returned in the search forum.

I'm going to put my voice in for getting the search functionality back to what it was. Being able to search a specific forum is key to development, and for anyone trying to learn the engine. When I was learning T2D, being able to search the Torque Game Builder forum was a huge help, and when that search went offline it slowed me down a lot, and it was much more difficult to find solutions from the community in this manner.

Now that I'm starting to look at the T3D engine I'm disappointed that this search is still not working properly, as I think it would significantly improve my ramp up speed.

The forums aren't just community communication, they're an extension of the documentation and a collection of How To's. They reflect problems people have run into and usually contain solutions for these issues.

Just hoping this might help up the priority for getting this fixed, I know you guys are pretty busy.
