Mission Editor and 3D Assets?

I have spent the last 3 days trying to get my assets in to the 3D engine but can not get them to appear. I have exported my model out correctly from Max 2010 using the .dts export pulg in and I get no errors when I export it or inport it in to the engine. However I can not get it in to my scene. I can double click it in the asset browser and a window pops up asking if I want to creat this object as a dynamic object. Also I can click it once adn than click the button that says add asset to scene and the same thing happens but noting come up.
All the forums adn posts that I have read point me in tot eh direction of the mission editor but I can not find that anywhere in the engine.
So what am I missing,
- Patrick

I would add to Scott's answer by saying be 100% sure your scale is correct. I had an issue once where I thought the model was not being imported when in fact it was.....at a microscopic size or something so HUGE that the entire game was drawn inside the import.

Thanks for the feedback, I to was concerned about the scale, and it may be coming in to small or to big. I always use generic units in Max when modeling out anything so can I keep with generic units in max? How big would a 256 x 256 x 256 box made in max be in torque? Thanks,

1 unit - 1meter in torque, so perhaps you were stood inside your model, id you dont have doublesided textures it seems like your model isnt even there when you stand inside of it.
there was also an issue with collada and textures but i'm not sure how that works now, i still use the dts exporters.
these are some simple gotchas that make it look like things are broken worse than they are :)

Just place your asset and its texture somewhere that makes sense for you in the game/art directory of your project.
Once you're in-game, press F11 if you're not already in the world editor to open the editor.
In the right panel click Library and then meshes, then navigate to where your asset is located.
Double click your asset and it should appear in the world, where exactly depends on your settings in the object menu.
If it doesn't appear check the console for any errors by pressing the tilde key ~.
