Offer is closed. Services no longer available

Thanks to everyone for the offers and bids. I am now maxed on contract work. By completion, I have something permanent lined up that will consume my full time hours. I will leave my information up if my services become available again

Greetings all. Looking for help on your Torque related projects? Need a strike-team coder to swoop in and solve your difficult bugs? Have a module you want written from scratch and implemented cleanly? Look no further. I am making my services available publicly for contract work. I am primarily looking for programming work, but I do have experience in design, technical writing and some project management.

Project Availability
I love 2D projects but will take on 3D assignments as well. Currently I am seeking smaller scoped contracts. Think of me as a strike-team coder/designer who fills the gaps in your team. I will take on entire modules or perform a bug fix run. At this time, I am not interested in creating an entire game from scratch (from design to shipping). I'm currently on a hot streak for mobile development, primarily iPhone and WP7. Torque work will be completed quickly, but I am also available for non-Torque related work.

Work Experience
GarageGames/InstantAction(July 2008 - Nov 2010)
- Lead Documentation Engineer - All engines
- Associate Producer/Project Manager - iTorque
- Engine Programmer - iTorque 2D

Coalescent/Windsor Continental (June 2006 - June 2008)
- Programmer - Worked in the simulation and R&D division, creating training programs for military and civil purposes

High Level Skill Overview
  • C, C++, C#, Objective-C
  • Python, Lua, TorqueScript
  • TGE, TGEA, Torque 3D, TGB, iTorque 2D
  • XNA, iPhone, Windows, Some OSX
  • Some UDK and Unity experience

Compensation
At this time, I am only interested in pay-for-work arrangements. Revenue sharing opportunities are not ideal for me, unless we have previously worked together and the project is near completion. I offer competitive rates. Please contact via e-mail for estimates.

Contact Information
You can reach me via e-mail: mich.perry@gmail.com
Resume, additional contact details and reference sheet available on demand

Notes:
1. Serious offers only
2. This does not reflect on the status of obtaining new owners for Torque. I am officially no longer an IAC or Torque employee, so this is a good opportunity for me as a programmer to grab some extra work.

I was referred to you by Clark Fagot. My company, VRSim (www.vrsim.net), is currently developing a spray paint simulation for training purposes using Torque 3D. We are attempting to use ShaderFeatures but are encountering a number of difficulties stemming from our lack of understanding of Torque's "ShaderGen" system and how textures are assigned, loaded, bound, etc. We are using Torque 3D SDK v1.0.1.
In order to get the greatest benefit out of Torque, we could really use a “consulting developer” who can guide us to maximize our use of the system throughout our development process. Is this something that either you, or someone you could recommend, might be interested in? email me at leslie@allometllc.com.

@Leslie - I saw your e-mail. I received a similar one from David at VRSim. I'll reply to your e-mail with the same content.

I also received one - and I say pick Michael over me! T3D is not my specialty, but Mr. Perry wrote the book. Literally!

@Michael: Cerulean has a number of potential funded projects being tossed our way. If they bite, I know we will need to bring on some 'Contract to Hire' employees to help out, and you are at the top of our contact list for those. :)

Good for you! All that time queuing at the Vegas soup kitchen must have been really boring, telling the other bums the same old story about how you used to be this great software dev ... ;o)
