hi .. im planning to buy torque 3d studio without source code(USD 125)..
but after a searched ,i found that there are many benefits i could get if i buy the source code version one (USD 1200).
it made me confused which one i should buy
im a games design student and still new at using game engine
1200 is much money for me but if its worth it i will do whatever i can to get that
im not programmer and still can't do any programming thing now (but im learning now)
my questions are
what the differences between them ?
what i can't do without source code?
is it =1possible to upgrade the license later ?
which one u recommend me to buy for now ?
cheers :)
(sorry for my bad english)

I would recommend source code. There are so many resources you could benefit from if you have full access. There are possibly some game modes and features you'd have trouble with if you rely on script alone, plus extending the engine itself is not possible without source.

If I remember right, you do get a discount on the source version if you already own binary T3D. But make sure to double check with someone who actually knows ;P.

Whether or not you go for source depends on what sort of game you're building and what features it needs, and how serious you are. I'd always recommend it just because having source code is awesome, but if you're making a shooter/racer without too much fancy stuff, you should actually be fine without source. If I remember right, you do get a discount on the source version if you already own binary T3D. Source code is like a gun: It's better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it. :-)

Torque licenses are easier to get in all parts of the world, though.

I recommend, unity3d free version, or udk , Ogre3d engine(source include),Irrlicht Engine (source include)
These are free for students

The source code is usefull when you need to modify the engine and its functionality at all.
Currently there are hundreds of free resources, most of them require source code changes ,you can benefit from them if you have the code.
