What happens when I change computers

by David Stonestreet · in ThinkTanks · 08/16/2003 (9:04 pm) · 8 replies

I have noticed that ThinkTanks uses a registration that connects to the internet. If I buy a new computer or want to play ThinkTanks on a different computer (like on holidays at my parents place), what happens then?

If the rego bot going to tell me that my serial number is already registered and that I am a pirate or something?

How difficult is it going to be to change computers?

Actually, what are my rights? Am I allowed to play Thinktanks on my computer at work, while having it on my home computer?

Cheers,

RockyRoad

You will just need to re-register. The registration key gives you, I believe, 5 registrations, maybe a few more.

I have a key, and just want to know where the heck to plug it in.. I only get a redirect
to the website for the demo download?

I purchased this game a while back, and I think the reg code was entered automatically
at the time of purchase? Not sure how to enter my key? ANyone?

I am having the same problem. Where do you plug in the key if you have had the game for a while and have a new computer?

You should make sure that you have the version downloaded from your account (the full version). It should check for the ignition key, and if it doesn't find it, it should prompt you. It will load up the browser with the product page, but it shouldn't kill the game itself. If you have purchased it, you should be able to get the ignition code from your account and enter it.

Do I have this right? I'm going to build a new machine w/W7 and dump my Compaq P4 XP box after 8yrs of service. I'd like to keep my TT Lic/Igniton key for my new machine. I only have to reinstall TT "Full" on the new machine and enter my "old" key? I don't want GG to think I'm stealing.
Thanks,
KC
PS. I first purchased TT from GG around 2005. By the way, I know that TT will run nicely on W7, as I've tried the "Demo" version to test.
