Can't put my horizontal compass inside of a container gui

So I ported the Horizontal Compass to TGEA 1.8.1, it works perfectly, however I cannot get it to position in the gui the same in all aspects due to the way it behaves. So it needs to be placed inside of another gui element for this reason, however it does not show up inside of another container. Could anyone who is a stronger coder than me possibly look at my code and tell me what I need to do for it to work inside of a container.
