Farewell Tribes, you returned to us so briefly

Just wanted to pay my respects to the passing of Tribes out of GarageGames and into HiRez Studios laps. I hope they take good care of the franchise and the MMO, "Tribes Universe" isn't a dud like Tribes Vengeance. I was hopping that Fallen Empire: Legions, would eventually give way to the return of Tribes, but alas my hopes have to be put on HiRez pulling some magic out of their hat.

Yeah, I just read a similar story on Kotaku and popped in here to see if it'd been mentioned by anyone yet. I have to admit that there was something appealing to Tribes being in the hands of the same people who have Torque, though I suppose at this point there's no one left from the T/T2 dev team anyway.

As much as I loved Tribes/T2, I can understand that this might have been the right thing to do. I'd rather have more money going into Torque development than see GG/TP/IA/whatever split their resources again to try to build a new Tribes game.

Besides, who needs the IP when you have the engine, right? ;)
