T3D 1.1 Beta 3 - Shoot on water freezes for a few seconds

Do not know if he was confirmed as resolved in the other betas (at least not found in the logs) but when you shoot with a rocket launcher on the water, the screen freezes for about 3 seconds! I remember there was a problem in this first beta, but the computer crashed with artifacts on the screen.

As I understand it, the crash bug was fixed, but no one's been able to track down the source of the small freezes. The last official word on this is that it's still being investigated.

It's apparently caused by reflection rendering of particle effects. In comment #50 in that thread I posted a quick patch to disable particle reflection pass rendering, which will stop the freeze from occurring, though obviously this is just a workaround until someone can find the underlying cause.
