Multiple materials, one mesh

In Blender (and in Max/Maya I presume), it is pretty trivial to add multiple materials to a mesh as they can be assigned. If I have a model of a person, it is a lot simpler for me to assign one material for the lips (probably a shader), one for the skin (with some diffuse for the skin tone, specular for the blush, etc.) and perhaps a UV'ed texture for the eyes.
Can T3D support this if it is imported in the dae? In the materials editor, I seem to see only one material per mesh. I may be blind though.

There is a drop down selection box next to the shapefile name in the Material Editor which lets you select the active material to modify.

I build a quick character with material for head, body and legs as a prototype and it was working perfectly.
I'm not a expert in Dae as I'm using DTS export as of today, but I will be very surprised that the format doesn't support this functionaly.
