Actor Invisible?

I downloaded and installed the Torque 3d 2009 Took kit demo package. I've already decided to buy the engine, as soon as I get the money.
Running the demo, I noticed that the actor, doesn't matter whether it's actor or gideon, and some of the art, such as the rocket launcher, does not show up. The shadow is there but not the model.
The buggy loads fine, but not those others.
Is there a transparency factor that has to be turned OFF somewhere?
Or is this something else.
Edit 8/22/10 - I forgot to say that this occurs when I'm using the world editor or testing in game play mode. If the camera is in 3d person shouldn't I at least be able to see the actor's back and in 1st person I should still be able to see the rocket launcher right?

..it could also be that the materials have specular turned on and your video card doesn't like that setting. I have not checked this in 1.1, but I remember it well in 1.0.1 with certain video cards.

The materials hadn't been applied properly, and that specular lighting with my POS on-board video.
Guess I gotta upgrade that.
Again, Thanks, it's working now.

- By version 1.2 or 1.3 the engine should be quite solid. So don't let 1.0.1 get you down with this type of oversight...they pushed it out like short order cook who obviously felt it was done enough to serve. I think that is a bit scary as I can't count the amount of times I have been served raw'ish fried haddock by such cooks. Should I eat it and get sick or complain until it's cooked right?
..I choose the second, afterall..I did pay for it.

Jim, the v1.0 release along with v1.0.1, in my opinion, is more of an approximate v0.8.- By version 1.2 or 1.3 the engine should be quite solid.
