The site wish list

#61 As far as the codeblocks go I have been playing with a new library for that. I will be implementing those features sitewide soon within the next week or so. Still loving the feedback keep it coming.

A printer friendly view would be fairly easy to implement, I'm not so sure about the immediacy of all them crazy options though. Baby steps.

A "Like This" button/option for posts, blogs, recources, etc, would be of great help. Long time ago, Resources used to have a punctuation system; the number of likes would (also) intuitively denote the quality, helpfuness, etc. of a given post.

#64 How 'bout a way to subscribe via email updates to new items posted to the front page? (& Similar ideas, like following individual people (friends, notables) when they add new items?) How 'bout a way to r/q notifications w/o adding a comment on a thread?

Not urgent, but... doable? Commitable? :-)

#67 Can we have REAL search again? The current search is buggy as all get out, and doesn't show any useful information in the results.

#68 Also, fix the escaping of backslashed things. It really breaks code to have character code escape sequences disappear.

#69 A few things that suddenly came to me...

1) The ability to add a 2nd email address to our profile so that we can use one for admin type stuff and another for public display.

2) A system whereby one member can use contact form to send a private message to another member.

3) A weekly digest sent on a friday night listing with preview all the blogs and resources posted since the last digest

#71 All good ideas. I just improved search and am looking to make it even better. I also fixed a bug where there were posts disappearing between page 1 and page 2.

Another day-to-day [little] annoyance:

The links for the latest resources in the "Whats New" section, and the "Resources" section, use different url's.

As a result, the browser shows the resource's links as "already read" or "not read" depending from what page you are looking at them.

#73 Goto last page / post button on main forum lists and main pages.

Worth noting / remembering any search whether internet or not can always be manipulated by adding arguments i.e. +"T3D" if the functionality is not there at present.

Just done with dates and works quite well too! enter ...

what you searching for + "T3D" + "2010" [hit enter] e.g.

#76 "I wish this was working so I can read it" doesn't really belong here, so I made a new bug report topic.

On the wishlist though might be "ability to delete own posts"

#77 Thanks for the input Thomas. Unfortunately with the archiving that we want for our community members, deleting our own posts is not something we are reviewing at this time. Sorry.

We will however have a better way of reviewing your previous posts in the near future.

#79 What I would really like to see, is a way to send someone a private message through the forums.

#80 Search filtering or sorting would be awesome. The search improved a lot after Summer, and adding that would make it perfect for me.
