Hi I am using Torque 3D 1.0.1 (Binary),
Trying to create a FOG, tried in SkyBox, Standard Sky, Water effect, not sure, how to create a good looking fog in a terrain full of ice, surrounded by huge mountains, the ground is still green, terrain has a long river and a National Highway to cut through.
Kindly advice the steps of creating a FOG.

What settings should I set and to what value to start experimenting with? I have absolutely no idea.

Set fog height to the height of the highest point of your terrain (z world coordinate) and a bit and the fog should appear if it hasn't already.

I just bought your Cliff Construction Kit, I am using T3D 1.0.1.
I am not able to install this kit, as per the pdf included, the folder structure is not updated I belive,or I am sure missing something.
I tried many things and somehow bring the Gorrilla Shape in world editor but lost all other editors, no material editor, no road editor, no river editor, no datablock editor...
Can you help me sorting this out so as I can try the fog.

For source changes, you'll need to use the instructions on the website.
1. prepare a clean 1.0.1
2. download your CCK version for Torque 3D (this works with 1.0.1)
3. click on "instructions" next to the download link for the same version and follow these
The install instructions will walk you through step by step. If you are familiar with applying patches, you have that option too - just download the patch using the link given in the very first line of the instructions.
Good luck. If you have further questions, please ask them in the CCK thread (see the docs) so other s may profit from it.
Let me know how that fog turns out!

Let me know if you'd like a refund for the Cliff Construction Kit - that should not be a problem.

There are many people here who will help you with Torque 3D along the way. I am sure that you'll enjoy making games with Torque Pro. Additionally, with the new docs, the learning curve should be a lot less steep.
And definitely let us know how that fog turned out! :)

I noticed there used to be volumetric fog volumes as well as volumetric lights. you could define fog layers using the fogVolume[X] attributes of the sky object. there was also a way to create lights that have a 3d volumetric shape.
what happened to these objects? do they still exist in T3D?

I was just looking at an older version of the engine; TGE 1.5.2.I noticed there used to be volumetric fog volumes as well as volumetric lights. you could define fog layers using the fogVolume[X] attributes of the sky object. there was also a way to create lights that have a 3d volumetric shape.

Sure I will, show the fog once its done.
@Sean
I am not sure, I have read somewhere that these no more exist in T3D.
Someone kindly correct me if I am wrong

Distracted...
Making it look good... well that's subjective. You'll have to experiment with the various settings to achieve a result you like. Keep in mind that Fog in Torque3D is little more than a distance fogging effect.
