T3D Bug Reporting

by Scott Burns · in Torque 3D Professional · 07/29/2010 (9:10 pm) · 2 replies

Thread Titles:
Do not use "[T3D 1.1 Beta 2] F7 doesn't drop player at camera with rotation".
Use "T3D 1.1 Beta 2 - F7 doesn't drop player at camera with rotation"

Also, do not use your own custom bug report format. Going against this will be inconvenient for our QA team, which no one wants.

Thread Body:

(what version are you using?)
Build: 1.1 Beta 2, 1.1 Final, etc. Binary or Pro.

(what platform/OS did this happen on?)
Platform: Windows Vista/7/XP, 32 or 64 bit, Mac OS 10.6/10.5/etc

(where is this bug happening?)
Target: Editors, Visual Studio, Torsion, Xcode

(what is the bug)
Issues: When pressing F7 in-game the player doesn't drop with the rotation of the camera. Instead it's dropped always facing down the world X axis.

(tell us how to trigger the bug)
Steps to Repeat:
1. Launch the game
2. Press F8 to enter the fly camera
3. Face a direction opposite the World X axis
4. Press F7, player should drop in facing down the World X axis

(if you know the solution, please post it. not required)
Suggested Fix: Have the player drop at the camera with it's Z rotation.

(if you have a copy of your console log, please link to it here)

I'm unlocking this thread for the moment to bump it and remind everyone to please use this standard when reporting bugs. Thanks.

Updated the format to include Binary or Pro in the build.
