Search missing sort by date checkbox

Seems the sort by date checkbox has recently disappeared from advance search.

    Ok it seems that search has been changed to return results sorted by date instead of relevance which explains the missing checkbox but now shouldn't we have a checkbox for relevance?
    Also search returns a match on ANY of the search terms which is a change from the AND default. Adding the keyword "and" didn't help. This is not good.
