Colour management and issues

I'm not really sure where to start here, i had the same problem a couple of years back, and disabling colour management in Photoshop fixed it, now i have a new and worse case of the same problem and cannot seem to fix it

ok, first the evidence

3 different browsers, 2 different displays

colour management is disabled in both PS and PSP so why arent they the same colours?

even if i tell them to use the same profile the colours are different

i was quite happy to ignore the issue, since PS is very old and i prefer PSP anyway, the problem now is that even a browser is displaying incorrectly.

so... i dont know where i stand at this point, i dont use PS much so thats not an issue, and Firefox is garbage (they should port it to Apples iJunk range) but people use it.

I'm not sure what i'm doing with the web versions of T3D but what happens if the firefox plugin buggers all my colours for other people?

ok... now for pure freakyness, i did a monitor calibration and nothing seemed to change, so i uninstall and re-install photoshop, now... colour management off works fine, and so do some of the profiles, Firefox 3.6 works fine...

so my question is... why are all those images i made actually still broken... i'm confused.

and how do i know what i see is what other people see, if i use the sRGB IEC1725438125874518754875124 profile will everyone see what i'm seeing or since that profile now seesm to match my new calibrated profile what happens if i dont embed any profile in the image? does it even really matter?

does somebody have a link to a website that explans all this stuff to dummies, 5 year olds and programmers
