Running a specific project through its .exe not out of the toolbox does not work and I encounter the same error.
Exact same issue in newer versions of Torque. :(

like i said however , garagegames is still somewhat a mid ware smaller size company and appearently doesnt have allot of support people. 99.99 % of ppl on these forums who help however are not garage games employees so dont always know 100 % of what to do or how to help in all situations. However for 99 $ this product cant be beat.. period .. however they lack professional support more than all else and with some it causes a issue same for me. regardless the issue i have read over 10 posts past week with gg engine issues and none but 1 had help from a gg employee or anyone who helped the issue if you browse frorums here you will see posts dating back quite a ways withought a awnser for problems they had. However always remember.. these guys have good engines and ideahs but ot allot of funding or near enough to be like Unity 3d or Big World much less others.. none the less excelent engine and friendly forums and i believe whole heartedy that GG over time will become much more than they are now. Eric P and many others have turned this company into a very nice piece of work. if i do however find a solution to the issue i will be sure to let you know Jason but look at the date i started this thread and notice no awnsers have been posted..

Ah... wait... I think I know what it might be. Here at work there were two machines that would outright crash our T3D game right away. Not even a console.log was produced. Since our builds generate crash dumps, I could use them to find out where the crash happens: somewhere in the OpenAL code.
Even though we modified your game to always use DirectSound in XP and XAudio2 in newer Windows versions, T3D still needs to call some OpenAL functions to enumare the device. And it seems some sound cards have such bugged OpenAL drivers that they cause T3D to crash.
I "fixed" this by compiling T3D without OpenAL support (good riddance: God damn that freaking bugged mess of an API). I'll make a thread about how to do it, but in the meantime can you try disabling your sound hardware in the Windows hardware manager and see if it works?

sorry for any confusion Manoel, the T3D will not run. And after spending over 1,000 $ on a engine with extremely little to absolutely NO support and none in sight still ticks me off. let alone having a post stay in forums wide open without any set help or notion of when these issues t3d to this very day from GG is very very very poor for a company of this stature. And i am beginning to understand certain aspects of why GG had the issues of the parent company abandoning regardless of what all happened. There is always and i repeat "always" a reason whether logical or non why stuff happens. And having spent hundreds and hundreds of $ on GG apps and addons regardless who the publishers are or were, the lack of help and lack of support and functionality is absolutely absurd and childish of this matter. In all respect to GG and its employees i do understand these things can be VERY tough and excruciating and at times very sad. HOWEVER to leave the customers who purchased these products and spent either 50$ - 1,000 + $ on these products to have no help regarding certain things , especially issues like i have had is not only unprofessional but extremely bad for the reputation needed to get to the top. Which i might add has more than likely played a role bigger than most on these forums realize at the moment. This post was written over a year ago and still not a solid reason or solution from the official GG support which i refuse to pay 5,000 $ for a resolution over the phone. I am going to over look all past purchases and look over the screen shots i have previously taken before i purchased the T3D engine for 1k. i had taken various screen shots to show my previous friend who now works in cali doing wedding videography since he had been interested. In the screen shots i had captured there were a few things which were not only misleading but also false. #1 Being able to deploy to Web Browser #being able to support various other things which were later removed and otherwise confirmed to be false. This in hand i know GG has a very firmly set regulation regarding refunds and i acknowledged this before purchasing. However there are many Regulations regarding Faulty Advertising throughout the Us and other laws. I will be contacting GG via email asap after talking to a few people who deal with issues like these. I have had EXTREMELY little to absolutely no support from GG in any form or fashion. Also i will no longer purchase from GG. I also have a feeling many others will do the same. I feel GG is going further down hill and are not revealing the whole situation to the people who made this possible for them. I just cannot sit by and throw more of my money down the drain and have nothing in return besides a nice interface and choppy code which is so buggy it is unreal compared to any others out there which are being sold as mid ware or less. This in its entirety is uncalled for. Regardless why it is how it happened. I sure hope i can get a refund for these purchases and not have to take the long route which i would be more than willing to take with having no help and very little help from the mass of this community. There are ways to get things done however. Only thing that GG has done on this note in regards to me and hundreds of others in the past is sit idle and hope and watch more people purchase their engines and products not knowing what they are getting into. And i disabled the sound on my cards Manoel and nothing changed. Please note this is not a personal attack against either GG or Eric p. just an unbiased honestly truthful factual statement from a extremely unhappy customer over long period of time. Very sad indeed it came to this.. I wish the best for Eric and all of GG , however it doesnt look good at all.

I also feel that blaming the current company for every little thing that annoyed us prior to the takeover is both petty and childish, am I angry at some things? hell yes and i'm still hating IAC and its parent company for everything.
The fact that the new company is making any effort at all to old customers of IAC is fantastic, ive lost count of the number of software products that are no longer supported after a change of ownership of the main company.
The fact that GG, a company that has received no money from your purchase or my purchase or several hundreds of purchases are going to update and support our engines for free is frankly awesome. Perhaps they should have changed the name of all the engines and started with all new customers to keep the whineyasses at bay i dont know, but i do know i would have payed another $99 to get a renamed engine with support/updates from the new company. In fact ive purchased many new things some of which I may never even use partially to increase my stock of GameDev assets but partially to support the new GG.
I do wish you luck in your endeavour to sue the dead company that is IAC for its false advertising and so forth and so on, tho considering what an abortion of justice the US legal system is you may be on to a winner :p

first of i was not refering to sue anyone , second i wouldnt call my statement childish merely extremely blunt and open minded , third get your facts straight before you respond to something which you dont know what exactly im referring to , fourth i was very polite as to whome and what i was referring to. never said a lawsuite just merely wanted a refund and i know GG is no longer associated with the former parent company. fifth i dont feel any need to explain to a close minded person who goes about making such a petty accusation like yourself.

if my first statement came out wrong as to sound remotely as to sue gg that is my mistake. however was not referring to anything on that measure or anything towards gg , my upset is with the company who let them go aswell as LACK of support from gg. sorry for any confusion.

. I cleared out the scriptExec file and started fresh. not had an issue since

I wonder what is causing the issue on your computer. I run win7 pro 64 with out an issue. There is one issue I did come across when I first installed on Win7. it had to do with a corrupt datablock or script file. I cleared out the scriptExec file and started fresh. not had an issue since

I noticed that you only mentioned running WinXP - no other system specs. It might be a little difficult to diagnose an issue without complete information. Perhaps if you drop an email to someone with your full system specifications and an exact quote of any error message that might be displayed they can help you find an answer (support@garagegames.com perhaps).

I've been running TGE/A and T3D on my computers - 7 different machines from a netbook, a laptop and several desktops running Win98, WinXP, Vista and Win7 (all 32 bit) with a variety of video cards (various ATI and nVidia) and processors without a hitch for a long time. The only relatively common element is that all of the desktops have SoundBlaster Audigy or Audigy 2 sound cards.I noticed that you only mentioned running WinXP - no other system specs. You said:
t3d v1.01 works fine loads fine , until i start world editor it stops right away and says i " new project has stoped working "
So I am assuming it works in winXP until you press F11 to get the world editor opening.
There isn't really any reason this should happen because of drivers if the normal game works fine.
To get some more information you can look at the console.log file which is in the game folder with the exe file.
This is just a text file so you can open it in any text editor like notepad.
The bottom of this file may have extra information about any errors that happened just before the program stopped responding.
To get more information, before you try to get into the world editor, open the games console by pressing the ~ key.
In this screen type in:
This will add more information to the colole log file which should show what the last function that ran.
Try this and post the results of your console.log file and someone may be able to help.

Just curious, what do you have your game's resolution set at? I've had this problem before with Vista, and no longer had it after setting my game to 800x600 as opposed to my usual 1024x768.

Ok, so i found the issue... this sucks i didn't figure out before why.. it seems that ATI's Mobility Radeon D 5870 gfx cards work as long as you use the factory installed drivers for the ASUS model i use.. i clearly remember updating the drivers a week after i received my notebook.. and it was a few weeks after that when i purchased T3D.. something in their updated drivers makes T3D error out without a crash log and has no log of the crash in system. Maybe this will help other T3D users get theirs to work.. eh and sorry for not knowing this earlier. However i would have called or requested a ticket with GG but didn't have the 5k to spend at the time. Don't know if this helps others but it did me. Thanks to all who posted !! :) Hopefully in the future which i believe will happen , GG will acquire more staff and mods to help with issues since these forums have many many users and only so many mods. :)

absolutely.. cant believe ATI didn't do a good job on the updates. and i had no idea T3D had so much potential and different options...

Also, are you using the Toolbox buttons? Can you run T3D at all without using the Toolbox? I mean going where your project game executable is and double-clicking the EXE file.
Also, are you still using 1.01? Did you try downloading a newer version?
