Zombie Sniper 3D

by Tony Pitman · in Torque X 3D · 04/10/2010 (5:36 pm) · 16 replies

Well, for those who are XNA Creator's Club members (and those that are just interested in following it) Zombie Sniper 3D if finally in playtest. So far I have had just a few people play it with a couple of great suggestions.

It uses the Torque X 3D engine. Thanks to many people here who helped me over come some challenges. So far the engine seems to work great. I was having some problems with changing scenes and such, so in the end I decided not to change scenes at all. I simple end up at the main GUI Play scene and menus and such are just drawn over the top of it while it is paused.

If you are a CC member, please run over and playtest it. If I don't get any big problems I will probably put it up for review some time this next week.

Here is a link that will probably only work for CC members:

Here is a link to the youtube video advertising it that anyone should be able to view:

Enjoy....

Cool man! I love it, glad to see a TX3D game come out. Are you going to add music? I would that would add a lot. Here are some good links for music, I think it would pay for itself, especially because the music is cheap!

Some good old butt rock would probably be good!

I am trying to get approval from a well known song artist to use his Zombie song in the game. I am waiting to hear back. If not then I will choose something else.

Zombie Sniper 3D is now LIVE! If you have an xBox Live account (I think gold or silver both work) Please rate Zombie Sniper 3D with 5 stars!

This will help promote the Torque X 3D Engine and Garage Games. Please help me get the rating up so it becomes popular.

Thanks, Henry. I am curious what you base that on. Is it simply that it is still on the first page on marketplace when sorting by sales? if that is the case, then it is doing not to bad.

Its rating, however, are terrible. Only 2 stars. Then again only 194 people have rated it.

I am happy. It is not the run away hit I was hoping for, but it is not in the toilet either :-)

I was looking at the Xbox.com page for all indy games. marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/games/catalog.aspx?d=7

and retronator's popularity list:

Ah, yes. It is not doing too bad especially for the ratings it is getting. The good news is it looks like people just are not rating it. I have gotten many more trials and purchases than ratings.

I am going to be positive and say that it is because people love the game so much they don't have time to rate it and those that rate it haven't really played it :-)

People really don't rate them it seems. Probably somewhere around 10% and then it doesnt seem like the rating really matters. Baby maker has been #1 for two months and yet it gets 3 stars.

The one good thing the rating will do is put you at the top of the list when sorted by rating.

It is true that not many people rate most of the games.

I guess the rating can be important, but its much more valuable to sit on the top downloads list for as long as possible in my opinion. I am psyched about how well Zombie Sniper 3D is doing. Good Luck with continued sales!

Thanks.

I was wondering if there are any more TX 3D games that have made it onto Live yet?

I don't think so, I really think you are the first. Congrats.
