Recast Integration

Hello community,

We are implementing a small library that integrates Recast, Detour and Torque 3D (version 1.0.1).

Recast is an excellent navigation mesh library (released via the MIT License) and created by Mikko Mononen. I recommend that you visit Mikko's webpage code.google.com/p/recastnavigation/, where you can get the latest version of this software and discover its features.

By the end of the week we will release a free version of this integration. This will be limited to 'cube' shapes, but eventually we will create a pay version that can work with terrains and include more features, which will be included on the Garage Games store page.

This is a video demonstration about what can be done with this free package.
I hope you like it!

Yeah, that's what i was looking for! Recast could do everything i need, great work with terrains and interiors, developed by famous AI specialist and completely free... Thank you for the release, waiting for release date!

Very cool.

We've wanted to integrate Recast for a while... i'm glad someone will get to it before we do.

ya well if andy releases his then you will not have to work on this he said hes going to release it as a back or maybe for free but got no clue when and if hes still going to or not.

This is his blog to show what hes done with this recast integrated into the engine looks super easy to work with.

Half year have passed from this post and no release, it means Andy does not want to release, Tom said it "maybe" in T3D 1.2.

Diego could bring it to community in some days, not full functionality, but starting point at least and in short period of time.

I will appreciate it very much.

This post inspired me, so I too implemented Recast into T3D. It's a very nice library. And now my AI don't get stuck on things!
