Particle Editor - where is it to be found?

Hello and apologies for a dumb question.
I have a full working demo level with the player moving about, shooting, being shot, healing and so forth, so i'm looking at using Particle effects for when he shoots, get's shot, hits various scenery.
And so with this in mind i've looked up the documentation but simply cannot find the editor itself.
I've looked across the menus i can see Animation Builder, GUI Editor etc, i've added particles to my project, clicked them, nothing.
Can someone please point me in the direction of where to find it.
Thanks
Colin

There is a roll-out pane, i can see the example particle effects that i have copied from the demos.
But still no sign of any editor button/menu option.

You need to drag an emitter into the scene and select the edit pane afterwards :)

Now I have a running TGB in front of me, so here's the missing part:You need to drag an emitter into the scene and select the edit pane afterwards :)

There's not a menu. It is a rollout under the Create Tab. You can then drag the New Particle to your canvas and edit its settings under the edit tab (similar to other objects).

If it helps, here is a video tutorial which details using the particle editor to make effects from scratch.
