Constructor Freezes at startup

by Nmuta Jones · in Constructor · 03/17/2010 (5:09 pm) · 3 replies

I've been using Constructor on this computer for a few days.
Its a Windows XP laptop.... fairly decent video card considering the laptop.

At any rate.....no problems with Constructor until the last few days. Constructor has as black screen, then freezes on this white screen after boot up.

This happened once before two days ago. I uninstalled, then re-installed. That worked then.
But it doesn't work now.

I have uninstalled, deleted all files, then re-installed three times. Same freeze on startup.

What could this be?

I'm not sure, but have you tried updating to 1.06 and seeing if that changed anything?

Just updated to 1.06 and it's doing the same thing. Since no one else seems to have complained about this on the forums, I'm sure it has something to do with my local configuration, but I'm not sure what it could be.

By the way, on the fourth re-install, 1.03 did finally come up after I left the computer alone for like 10 minutes.

It's making it almost impossible to use constructor.

OK, so 1.06 finally came up. I guess for whatever reason it takes about 5 minutes for Constructor to boot up on this machine. This machine runs Torque3D fine, however, with decent frame rates. So I don't know if its just a Windows XP thing or what.
