Torque X 3.1.4 on Creators Club seems to be broken

by Ron Barbosa · in Torque X 2D · 03/03/2010 (7:17 pm) · 129 replies

Hey all...I just upgraded my Creators Club version of Torque X from 3.0.0 to 3.1.4 (which was released to Creators Club members today) and I'm getting the indication that my trial period has expired.

I tried to insert my product key that I used on the 3.0.0 binary, but it doesn't seem to work. Comes back as an invalid key.

I vaguely remember having to go through some steps to get my product key for version 3.0.0, but I can't find those steps documented anywhere.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks
Ron

@Rod,

Thanks for the information. I had stated previously though that I'm running fine, however the installer did not perform successfully. This includes even updating the version 3.0.0 directory as you had suggested as it was supposed to, the installer simply did not update anything it essentially just ran then exited. And though it acted as if it done something it appears to have done nothing.

Which is the only reason I was stating anything for anyone else if they were to run into a similar issue I would suggest they simply uninstall the previous version then install the newer version.

Also I've had no issues with the references etc since I had previously changed the version 3.0.0 project I was working with to XNA 3.1 prior to the new CC release.

Is there a prevalent issue, to anyone's knowledge with the use of the 3.1 framework and the 3.0 CC package? I hadn't seen one previously but was just curious.

Thanks again.

@Ron

So how do I go by getting a TXB key? Does that mean I have to buy that product in order to get it so I can register my TX2D?

Never mind. Saw that David has to add that product to my account so guess I'll just have to wait til he sees this and adds it to my account.

Pretty urgently as I have tight deadlines for this Uni project :S

Thanks!

@AWannaBe

That sounds really strange. I'd wait for GG to give you a new product key, then uninstall and reinstall. I've never seen a situation where the installer runs, but doesn't do anything.

I still run Windows XP (because I like having a PC that actually works)...maybe this is a Vista or Windows 7 problem that I haven't had the pleasure of encountering?

Hi, same issue here. TXB3D registered fine for my CC account, but 2D did not. Thanks!

I just added a key to your account for TX Builder that should allow you to register 2D.

Hello!

I am getting the InvalidKey message for TorqueX 2D. The key worked just fine for TorqueX 3D.

Thanks
