Forest editor and Sticks & Twigs

I am creating a level which require a large amount of trees. I have added the sticks & twigs pack to the project and run the resource found here to convert the pack into brushes which can be used by the forest editor. The problem I am having now is that when I add items from the sticks & twigs pack the draw calls are rising very quickly with 1000s a time. When I am using the default tree from the forest editor the draw calls rise just a little with many more trees. Is this a problem with the models of the sticks & twigs pack (LOD or so), or is this caused because the conversion added all the items found in the sticks & twigs pack to the editor? And just using the default tree is not an option for this level. I hope someone can help me here. Thanks in advance.

Thanks Ken, I thought it would be something like that.

If you need the LOD switch point changed on a certain number of trees, I can re-export them for you.
They're by default set pretty low, i.e. visible pixels before the lesser poly model is loaded, but it's a fairly quick set of number changes in Milkshape and re-export with DTSPlus! to kick up the point that the lower poly models are loaded at.
Probably have some visible model degrading, but would probably drop your draw calls a bit. Couldn't really tell you what kind of trade off you'd be looking at or performance gain, nonetheless, wouldn't be a problem to do a dozen or so for you for your particular need.
You can email me at alanjamesATcharter.net if interested. (Or if you have Milkshape yourself and aren't sure of what to change, I could explain that also so you could do any of the ones that you need since you have the art source assets with the pack).
Just let me know if you need some help with it.
(Sorry didn't notice this sooner, don't cruise the forums much as of late.
Thanks,
