pureLIGHT for Torque X 3D

Just wondering what the interest would be for a version of pureLIGHT that supported Torque X would be. Most likely it would be the same as the T3D version with support for TX 3D added in.

I wont say no. I don't have a use for it right now but that doesn't mean I wont suddenly want it later on!

How does pureLight compare to Sunburn for XNA? Of course to use Sunburn I'd have to adapt to it.
On second look at the steampunk alley in T3D, I'd probably buy it. It would have to work on the Xbox.

I believe $400 for an addon to a $250 product would be a pretty hard sell. As it is it seems that people don't see the value in purchasing TX when there is the free CC binary. If it were priced reasonably and really made a big difference I'd go for it.How does pureLight compare to Sunburn for XNA? Of course to use Sunburn I'd have to adapt to it.

It would work on the Xbox and would actually help a lot because you can manage the memory footprint of your lightmaps easily.

The main problem I see is that sales potential is probably quite low. Unless of course there are hundreds of licensees who don't see the point in posting on the forum. I get lonely here, which indicates to me that I am one of very, very few people actually using this engine daily.

I've downloaded the demo for TX3 and will play around with it next chance I get.

I think there are alot of us Trent, Even the top posters don't post that much. I also expected the forums here to be more like the XNA forums, however if you take the dreck away from the xna forums they are as light as these forums ; )I've downloaded the demo for TX3 and will play around with it next chance I get.

As for the free Torque X Binary. As far as I know, that is ending soon. Torque X won't come packaged with Creator's Club, but rather discounted with a Creator's Club membership, much like most other CC offerings.

pureLIGHT is pretty amazing and I think the screen shots will really drive home its value. Proper lighting and shadowing is always under rated until its effects are seen. I would probably pay for that capability if It was as easy to implement and edit as SunBurn is and still worked native with TorqueX.

My next project is definitely 3D and as such I would love to add lighting, I sent an email to purelighttech and never received a response. I'd also love to be able to use the new TX3D, hopefully what I am working on now will translate over pretty easily.

Henry, I didn't see an email from you. Sorry about that, maybe it got caught in the SPAM filter. I've had that happen with legit emails before. I think we are going to see how things change with XNA 4 and that will help us find a direction for pureLIGHT and Xbox 360 indie development.
