what appen after hover explosion?

i have a hover instead of player in my game when hover explode how can i do to make a camera that follow hover's debris(damaged version of hover) and after debris fade out stop all and get a game over or in mutiplayer respawn the hover in a specific spawn point(closest to death)?
actually when the hover explode i turn off the hover rendering but is difficult to see explosion and debris the gun mounted on the hover start to shoot even without key pressed and i can continue to play(the revenge spirit of the hover?!?).
if also possible to make the debris shootable it seem to collide only with ground.i wont to make possible to shot at the damaged hover like the "finish him" of mortal kombat and make it exploding in smaller parts.
i'have look for the exploding barrel demo but i didn't understand how tho do different states of destruction on objects.
