I'm speechless...

Has anyone else run into this problem...

While playing I suddenly lost all ability to speak... I could open the chat box and type in my request.. but when I sent it nothing appeared in the game. I had to completely close the game down and restart, just exiting the current game did not fix it.

Next time, try holding down the shift key and tapping the capslock key once. One of the symptoms of the problem that this fixes is that what you type appears in all-caps, no matter what your caps-lock or shift key state is (in addition to noone seeing your text). Many games that use DirectInput have this problem.

I will try this if it happens again.
Thanks for the tip.

This happened to me once. For some reason, if I held down shift and the ? key, then typed what I wanted, no one could see it, but then when I typed regularly, everyone could see it again!
Weird...

Even me. To solve the problem, I usually open a Word Processor, type something, press the caps lock and re-enter the game.

Wow.. this is an old post =P

I have found that it can usually be fixed by pressing shift-capslock.. you have to keep typing a character to test if you got it right.. so the chat looks like this for a few seconds..

To make sure you can type again, just hit your left arrow key, if it highlights it isnt fixed, but if it doesnt it is fixed. :)

TD press the keys (things with letters) on your keyboard to type words in. Hope this helps.

Letter shapes correspond to sounds. Together in discreet groups, they represent ideas and concepts.

So the letters always sound the same? Here is what that would be like:

job = jobe
tank = tan - k
hypothalamus = hye - poe - teh - hailay - muse
