missing ddraw.dll

please help with this issue. everytime i need to open a program that uses ddraw.dll file it won't let me use it for some reason. it says error missing ddraw.dll but i didn't delete it or anything i don't know y it does that. any tips

i'm 16 and i really enjoy making games and testing them. i started making games when i was 11 using game maker, but then i started using torque when i was about 13 and now i fell in love with game designing and look forward to making a career out of it.

You need to update your DirectX.

after i download it where do i put it? and thanks for the help man and where do i install it at

Install it in it's default destination. (C:\Program Files\)
You can place the download whereever you want. Just remember where it's at. Or just install from the web. (the best way)

ok thanks, so what if i get another error that says the procedure entry point SUnMapLS_IP_20 could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll, thats the error im getting now :( please help

dang i can't figure out the problem it won't let me open any of my programs including torque :(

That is an odd error. My guess is some important system files have become corrupted either via the drive going bad or something else.

You'll definitely want to run Scandisk if you can to see if there are any sectors of your drive going bad. After that you can try to repair the Windows install or reformat the drive and reinstall it.

You might want to check for viruses as well.

What I meant was to reinstall Windows. Have you tried running Scandisk or a virus scan yet?
