Can you still purchase TGE? I have looked on this site and scoured the front page and I only see the 3d version. Thank you

TGE and TGEA have been discontinued as products in our store. This was effective November 1st.

Unfortunately I think you wasted your money Eric.

However I do believe that most of the books come with TGE, atleast the ones that I bought did. Hopefully you can still take the book back, gonna need all the money you can get to afford that T3D price tag.

The majority of what you learn from the book is directly applicable to Torque 3D when it comes to scripting. I would strongly recommend using the book's version of the engine while learning so that you do not deal with pathing or function naming differences.

Dang, I'm glad I snagged 1.5 when I did. There's no way I could have afforded even TGEA on my student-hobbyist budget. It's a shame to see such a solid engine go by the wayside.

That is terrible, with all the massive lay offs over the past years which I have been part of 4 and on unemployment more than I have been able to work. I have not been able to afford the $100 dollars and then the $150 price tag on it. Now that my life is back on track with a stable job, I wanted to purchase it and get started on a game I have been dreaming of for about 3yrs now. Even with my steady job now, I need to rebuild from years of unemployment. Now I cannot afford torque3d. I cannot win!

Yeah. I think it is stupid that they stopped selling torque. They should have it up for $20 and I think they would make a lot of sales as most people around my age (i am 13) can't afford torque 3d unless they greatly reduced the price.

EDIT: Eric I am going to give you a chance. If you have msn talk to me as i may be able to offer you a place in my team. My msn is bruneman@hotmail.com You can just email me if you don't have msn.

There has been talk about open-sourcing TGE in the future. We talked about it briefly on IRC yesterday.

@Eric Jordan, You should be able to contact the licensing department about purchasing a copy of TGE 1.5.2.

They just do not sell the engine in the gg store anymore.

Everything should work out, also the books are very good tutors as they are the reason that I am using torque. :)

I have gone far from where I was and even now the books still hold very valuable information and are great referances despite the versions used at the time.

Good Luck with using TGE!
