Still some minor problems...

Hi guys, finally I got internet back after a month!

Anyway, I already did some jobs with pureLight, totally amazing!

Well, there is still a little annoying problem about pureLight, that is basically that I can't add a directional light in the scene...I still have an exported one from 3ds, but since my trial period expired, I can't modify its position, and I really need to modify it!
Well, here's a screen of what is the error message

Am I doing something wrong? I just press "Add new light", choose the color, and then got this message and it just crash...any suggestion? I'm running pureLight on a 64bit workstation, this may cause some problems?

Actually I get this issue too when trying to add a light in via PL rather than importing. Then the app hangs. Close it via taskmanager and my restart and the light is there all fine and dandy.

Easiest way around that is to import all the lights. Personally I "batch" import all lights of the same type. I got 733 lights in scene - no way am I having them as individual objects!

Jesus, 733 lights? well, the main problem is that I'm using XSI and the "direct light" ( the equal in XSI is the Infinite light ) can't be exported ( no geometry ), so I need to export it from 3ds, which works fine, but, as I said, my trial period expired, so I still have the imported light from 3ds, but I'm not able to move/rotate it, that is the main problem!

I tried as you described, close it via task manager and re-open the scene, but nothing, still no direct light :(

We'll look into this issue Nick. I forwarded this to Tom to have a look.

If its giving that error message, its having trouble finding the scene file associated with that new light.

I've tested and it works for me in the latest released version.

Did it create an ase file for the light in the place you told it to create a new light in? If so, you should be able to run prelight and convert that file as normal, and you'll have your light source in pureLIGHT.

Glad to say that the "Add light" function works fine, the thing was that I totally forgot to convert the new created light, since I didn't notice that the light, even if pureLight crash, is created, and it match exactly the camera view when you create it, so great!!!!
